Oh So Elegant

This is one of my favorite Rubber Romance images, and when I saw this sentiment, I knew I had to use it with this stamp. I usually use Fiona for engagement cards, but she is perfect for one of those girlfriend cards, too. You can find Fiona, this sentiment and tons of other fabulous Rubber Romance stamps in the Etsy shop.

It's going to be a quick post today, cause I still haven't showered, LOL. This is the first time the little ones have both been asleep today. And see I had my priorities straight, post a card, then shower!

Thanks for stopping by today! Come back soon.

Laundry Time

This card is very appropriate for today, because I should have been doing laundry, while the babies napped, but used my time to stamp instead! Let's hope everyone has clean undies for tomorrow, just kidding!

This is my take on Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge #66. I love the crooked panel, so much fun to work with. Buttons and sewing seemed like the perfect embellies for a laundry card.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I know what I'll be doing, laundry, LOL!

March Magnolia-licious Christmas Blog Hop

Each month on the 25th the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group holds a Christmas blog hop. Check out the Magnolia Christmas All Year Long Blog for all the deets. It's a great way to get a Christmas card done each month using your Magnolia stamps.

I used the Friday Sketchers sketch #94 for my card layout. I'm also linking it to Sparkle's Christmas card challenge #16 for this week. The theme is your favorite part about the holidays, and my favorite part, now that I have kids is Christmas Morning. To see it through their eyes is just priceless! This Tilda is called Christmas Morning Tilda. She is available at the Magnolia-licious store, but I'm not linking it here right now, because they are in the midst of switching servers, and will be back up and running soon.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hop on over to Kerry's blog for the next stop on the hop.

Stamps: Christmas Morning Tilda
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI vintage cream, SU Always Artichoke, Basic Gray Wassail
Embellishments: copics, stickles, stitching, gold mini brads, SU retired organdy ribbon, dimensionals, white gel pen

Wild About Edwin

I'm totally wild about animal print things. A lot of people know I brought Lilah home from the hospital in a leopard print outfit, complete with fruffle (the head bow thing). My baskets in my office are all animal print, too. So when I saw this card kit from my stamping buddy Linda Palmer, I went nuts. The dark piece behind Edwin is a darker leopard print, hard to see in the photo. This zoo keeper Edwin is so cute, too.

I swap Magnolia card kits with a wonderful group of ladies on SCS. You put a few images, two sheets of patterned paper and ribbon and embellies together to make a kit. It is so much fun. This kit had some other embellishment, too, but I didn't use them all, I have plenty for a second card. Thanks Linda!

I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch #38 for this layout. It was perfect for a tall thin image. I didn't use the bow on the top though. I was going to, but ran out of room. The image was a bit bigger than I thought. My three dots on the side are Bella dots, they are the crackle kind and almost look like animal print, too!

Thanks for dropping by today. I love to have visitors. Hope you are having a great week!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Magnolia, Edwin zoo keeper
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Choc. Chip, Ballet Blue, gp110, unknown animal prints

Rain, Rain Go Away!!

Well, it is rainy here again. I think this will mean a really green spring when everything starts to bloom. I broke out my new Pure Innocence set from MFT, perfect for a rainy day. I think this little girl is the cutest.

I used this SFYTT from March 13th as my sketch. I also made this for the following challenges this week: Paper Sundaes 10th challenge, paper piecing, and JUGS challenge #25, (colors of light brown, light blue, light green, light yellow). I love these soft springy colors, but don't use them too often. I usually go for brights, but this was a fun change.

Addy 'Tude is Sparkling Today

I have had this stamp for a while now, and sadly had never inked it up. She is called Addy 'Tude LOVES to Sparkle from Stamping Bella. Isn't she fabulous? I don't know why I haven't used her! Her name made me feel the need to really sparkle and bling her up. Her outfit and accessories are sparkled with spica pens, then I sprayed the whole white piece and the sentiment liberally with Smooch Spritz, I just love that stuff. The striped paper is super sparkly, too, it is the Home collection from MME.

I think this one will be headed to one of my bffs who really always does sparkle, plus she always wears big sun glasses like these, LOL! Watch your mailbox Meliss.

The sketch for this one is from CPS #158, Stamping Bella is the sponsor this week, so I had to enter. I so love all my Bella stamps!

Thanks for stopping by today. TGIF!

Tilda in the Rain

I got this stamp about a month ago and just got a chance to ink her up. I saw the Just Magnolia sketch, and thought it would work out perfectly with this Tilda. I think I pulled out this one, because we've been having tons of rain in the last week. Today we have sunshine though, and I spent the morning outside with the two little ones and really enjoyed the fresh air.

I'm also entering this in the Saturday Spotlight challenge, "You're So Slick". Her boots and umbrella are glossed up with crystal effects. Don't know if you had one, but it looks like the plastic bubble umbrella I had as a little girl.

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's me again, can you believe it? Today is the deadline to post my card for the Designed2Delight weekly progressive challenge, so here it is. I'm also entering it in the Daisy Doodles challenge this week "anything goes", as long as you use a digi.

Should have warned you to get out your shades for this one, it's bright. Sending it to a friend who needs a lift, so I wanted bright and cheerful. Even glittered up the birds for fun! Found the sentiment from PTI that was a perfect complement for this image.

Thanks for dropping by. Happy Monday!

Christmas card for the week

Hi friends, hope you aren't keeping track of my Christmas card totals for this year, cause I'm not keeping up! But when I saw Sparkle's sketch challenge yesterday I was inspired. This is Sherrie from Rubber Romance.

I started with a Christmas dsp and ended up scrapping it, but sticking with the colors, so a non traditional colored card. I think this one is good, too, because in recent years, I'm finding I need more winter type cards that don't specifically say Merry Christmas. We live in a very diverse community and many of our friends don't celebrate the same holidays we do. Really great learning experiences for all of us.

Thanks for stopping by today. We are still having heavy rains. Found out at the bus stop this morning that several of our neighbors had flooding in addition to lost power over the weekend. Hoping our sump keeps doing it's job!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Sherrie from Rubber Romance
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Pretty in Pink, Blue Bayou, Baja Breeze
Embellishments: copics, stickles, MS border punch, nesties, SU ribbon, cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, dew drops

Verve Birthday Wishes

Here is my card for the VLV second challenge for March. This month's inspiration photos are of kitchens. I picked a modern looking black and white kitchen with a lime green backsplash. It was the first photo Julee posted for the challenge. Love these clean lines and colors together.

We had bad rains and winds last night and were without power for about 6 hours. Not too bad, I think some people still are without. Hope you are staying warm, dry and safe wherever you are!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Verve Birthday Wishes plain Jane
Ink: Memento
Paper: PTI ssw, New Leaf, Basic Black, MM polka dot
Embellishments: Copics, stickles, foam dots, corner rounder, ribbon, cutttlebug embossing folder

Hello Friend!

This Girlfriends on a Bench from Rubber Romance is one of the first Rubber Romance stamps I bought. It started my love for the Divas! These are about the chicest ladies I've ever seen hanging out on a bench. Wish I looked this good, LOL.

This week the sketch challenge at SCS (SC271) was perfect for large image, so I went with it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. TGIF! Hope you all have a great weekend. Supposed to be very rainy here. But I can't complain we've had wonderful spring like temps all week.

Thanks for the Kimono!

Last weekend we had a girls' weekend to celebrate the birthday of my dear friend Megan. While I was there, my sweet friend Melissa gave me a Kimono for Lilah. It was a hand-me-down from her daughter Hannah. Someone had brought it home to her from a trip to China. It is beautiful, royal blue with butterflies on it. I remembered this darling image from Mo's Digital Pencil that I had. So I printed it off to make a thank you card for her.

How cute is this image. Her little face is so pretty, I think. I used the Midnight Madness sketch (MMSC44) for this layout. Another great sketch this week. She is all stickled up and her teapot and cup are covered in glaze to look like ceramic. I made my flower accent after seeing the cool tutorial from my blogging friend Karli, she always has the best tutorials.

Thanks for dropping by today!

Ink: printer
Paper: GP110, Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate, Tangerine Tango, MME patterned

Feels Like Spring

I had some new stamps in my mailbox today from the new Verve release last Friday. I love this new Feel the Sun set. The flowers are just so pretty. It was 60 degrees here today, so I wanted to do something springy! The sketch and inspiration are from the VLVMAR2010 week one challenge on the Verve forum at SCS. The inspiration this month is kitchens. I was inspired by a shabby chic cottage kitchen.

Here is a close up of the flowers. I just bought a new toy, Smooch Spritz from AC Moore. It is so sparkly in real life the effect is unreal. I still don't think the up close photo captures it well, but it is truly amazing, I'm totally loving it.

Thanks for dropping by today. Looking forward to American Idol tonight, I thought the ladies stepped it up last night.

Cutie Pie Frame

I made this cute little frame for Lilah's room. I recently saw some baby bedding in a black and pale pink toile and fell in love with it. I'm going to order it for her nursery. I haven't done her room yet, since she's still in the basinet in my room for now. So this will go with the chosen color scheme!

I used the adorable Cutie Pie elephant stamp from Rubber Romance. You can find these in the Etsy shop. I just checked and this one isn't listed right now, but if you want it, just email Robin, the owner, I'm sure she can get it for you. She has great service and tons of cute stamps.

These frames are available at craft stores in unfinished wood, and usually only cost a dollar. This is such a fun and inexpensive gift. I think I need to make three more, the older boys saw this and wanted to know where there frame was, LOL! So you'll probably be seeing some boyish ones soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you want specifics for making this frame, check out my tutorial on the Rubber Romance blog.

Stamps: Cutie Pie elephant from Rubber Romance
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Patches

Here is "Patches" from Designed2Delight. Isn't he just the cutest little rabbit? Love the sweater, so sweet. Patches is the free digi stamp for the first week of March. Faith has a progressive challenge going on, check it out on her blog. All stamps from previous weeks are available in the Designed2Delight digi store. I based the layout on the sketch from Paper Sundaes from last week.

This is my first Easter card this year. We still have snow on the ground, but it should be melting soon, it's almost 60 degrees today, so that should help! Hope you are getting some sunshine, too. Thanks for stopping by today.

Stamps: Digi Patches from Designed2Delight
Ink: printer ink

Riley likes Guinness

Another card with Riley and Origins paper. I still had some out and thought it was perfect for St. Patrick's Day cards. The sketch I used for this one is MoJo Monday sketch #128.

I think Riley's beer looks like Guinness, because of it's dark color. This one is going to my good friend with whom I spent many nights in an Irish pub in Wilmington, O'Friell's. Such a fun place to listen to live Irish music. Sadly it's not even open anymore.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Lucky Little Riley

TGIF! Looking forward to the weekend. After digging out my skiing Riley stamp last week, I remembered that I had some St. Patrick's Day Rileys, too. Got them out and inked them up, just in time!

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches this week, #35. Thought it was a fantastic sketch and fit Riley perfectly. I used my new Origins paper from Basic Grey, it was a gift from my sweet stamping friend Linda. Aren't the colors great?

This card is going to my chemo angel patient. If you are a card maker or just love to send out cards (handmade or store bought) you should check out the Chemo Angel program. They will pair you up with someone going through cancer treatment. You commit to sending at least one card per week to them. It is a great cause. It's amazing how much a card can brighten up someones day. They try to pair you up with a person with common interests, so it is easy to find topics to talk about in your cards. My first patient, who has now graduated from the program is now a close friend. We had tons of stuff in common, and she is a card maker, too. How cool is that? So if you are interested, check it out.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

A little herb gift

I found some French herbs in a gourmet store and thought my friend Melissa would enjoy them. So they are a little part of her birthday gift. Luckily she doesn't read my blog much, so she won't see this before she gets it! I wanted to pretty them up a bit. So I used one of these Martha Stewart treat boxes from Michaels and decorated it with some Rubber Romance stamps. They are available at the Etsy site.

I think it came out cute and will make a nice little presentation! Funny thing is, my four year old, Liam, saw it and said, wow, mom that is beautiful, but why are you giving someone pencil sharpenings? I thought that was funny!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hitting the slopes

Here is another card of a hobby that I don't do. I can't seem to resist these sports and yoga images although I don't do these things in real life. I love all the Riley stamps though and this one is no exception. He's so darn cute.

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch (MTSC62) last week for this fun layout. And it was for last weeks Christmas card challenge week 12 from Sparkle to use a winter sport theme in honor of the Olympics. Now I didn't get it made in time for either challenge, but still wanted to post it!

Thanks for dropping by today!
