Last card for the relay

Day three's image for the TGF CHA relay was this cute Toby Cub image. I'm not usually a bear fan, but this one is pretty cute! I made mine into a thank you card, because I'm still catching up on thank yous for some gifts given to Lilah. Unfortunately the relay had to end early. I think the gallery kept crashing from the overwhelming response! It was fun to try and keep up for those three days! I would definitely try something like this again.

We had a light snow this morning, the kids were hoping for an accumulation, but they didn't get it! Oh well, at least no shoveling!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: TGF digi, Verve sentiment
Ink: printer and palette umber
Paper: PTI ssw, SU Close to Cocoa, Pink Piroutte, Basic Grey patterned paper
Embellishments: nesties, cuttlebug embossing folder, copics, Bellas Baubles, dimensionals, ribbon scrap

Embossed Robin

Remember my embossed Babs card and tutorial on the Rubber Romance Blog? Well, as I mentioned, I was creating a set of cards for my friend's birthday. This is number two. She is Retro Robin from Rubber Romance. You can find her and all her diva friends as well as lots of other fab stamps at the Rubber Romance etsy site.

These embossed cards are quick and easy and only take one stamp to mail, can't beat that! I'm almost through making a set of ten (2 each of 5 designs). I'll be posting the rest soon!

Have a great day!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Retro Robin from Rubber Romance
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red
Paper: PTI ssw, Real Red
Embellishments: copics, sponges, spica glitter pens, MS border punch, offray ribbon

Relay Day #2, Sassy Charlotte

Here is my second relay card for the TGF CHA relay challenge. I adore this image, I think she looks like she has a lot to say! I definitely will use her again, I hope they eventually will make her in rubber, I have an easier time with rubber than with digis! This was fun for me, too, because I've been trying to experiment with different skin tones, still a work in progress for me. Hard to tell in the photo, but she is super glitzy with stickles.

Thanks for stopping by today. Can't wait for Biggest Loser tonight, thinking their might be a lot of drama after last week! Have a good one.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Charlotte digi from TGF
Ink: Printer ink
Paper: PTI Spring Moss, SU Bashful Blue, gp110, MME patterned paper
Embellishments: copics, nesties, stickles, MS ribbon, Primas, Michaels rhinestone

Ready, Set, Go!

The TGF CHA Relay begins today. Go on over to their blog and get the info. This Mer Ian is a free digi, if you play and upload a card with him to their gallery by 6pm CST you get the next digi free, and so on all week. Pretty good deal, right? Go download him and give it a try. Even if you don't get done in time, you still have a super cute new digi!

This one is pretty simple, I wanted him to look like he was swimming, so the background is embossed with tiny bubbles from Cuttlebug. For some reason when I saw him I knew right away that he was a red head! LOL, I love red hair, so beautiful.

If anyone has any digi tips for not smearing the ink, please let me know. I let it dry well and even tried to heat set it. It doesn't seem wet enough when it comes out of my printer to emboss it. I probably should be a bit less heavy handed with my markers, I keep going back to blend over and over. But like I said if you have any secrets, please share!

Hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Card Recipe:

Ink: Printer ink and Palette Noir
Paper: Bashful Blue, Only Orange, DCWV summer stack, GP110

Shiny Happy Farm Fresh Friday

This weeks Farm Fresh Friday was to use a sunny theme. Check out the Shiny Happy Challenge. I also used Aly's Sunday Sketch Challenge (ASSC9) for the layout. Love the way Aly does her sketches, she is so creative, that diagonal panes was really fun to work with.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It's very cold here, but may be warming up slightly this week, that would be great!

Finally Tried a Midnight Madness Sketch

This week for the Midnight Madness sketch challenge (MMSC37), we had a choice of two similar sketches. One was clean and simple and one was more ornate. I went with the clean and simple sketch. I thought this patterned paper had enough going on that it might be overkill with the ornate sketch. They have really fun sketches posted each Monday. This is the first time I've had a chance to play.

I've been on a bit of a Valentine making kick. Funny thing is, I don't usually send them out. I guess I'll have to this year. Those Valentine stamps are just too cute to resist. This little Tilda was one of those must have stamps for me, I think she is just adorable with her bow and heart arrows!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you are having a terrific weekend!

MOJO Does Yoga

Here is my take on this weeks MOJO Monday sketch challenge, MOJO122. I used a circle rather than an oval, it was actually a mistake, I didn't print off the sketch, and remembered a circle. Oh well, close enough for me. I should play more Sudoku to improve my memory, LOL!

I just bought this little cutie from The Greeting Farm, she is called Yoga Anya. I love yoga stamps and have quite a few, not sure why as I don't know how to do yoga.

TGIF! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Stella has a Valentine

Just got this stamp in the mail from The Greeting Farm. Her name is Stella, I won her in one of their New Year's card challenges. I think she is just adorable, and I love the name Stella. It was actually one of the names on our list while I was pregnant with Lilah.

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch (MTSC57) for the layout of this card. It was a fun and easy sketch to put together.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you had a good one.

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Two weeks in a row I completed Sparkle's Christmas card challenge! This is her week #7 challenge, it was a sketch challenge. Feeling pretty good that I have 2 cards done for next year, lets see if I can keep up with it!

These stamps are from Magnolia. Sad thing is I never even used the fireplace stamp, and I've had it for over a year. At least now it's been put to good use, I think it's really cute, too. I think the red bows could use a touch of stickles, I may have to go back and add a bit more sparkle. Have to use it again soon!

Hope to be back tomorrow with some more timely cards, lol. Probably Valentines. Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one.

A Lazy Monday

Can't believe it's Monday already! Here is another one of the cards I made last week for the Verve release week challenge, this one was the sketch challenge. I just love pink and orange together and thought this would be a perfect Valentine for one of my friends.
We are having a quiet day here, my husband is off today and took the older two to see the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. So, it's just me and the babies. I'm making this quick, so hopefully I can stamp before they wake up! Maybe that was wishful thinking, I hear Finn already! Oh well, maybe I'll so some stamping later today.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. And those of you that are off from work today, enjoy it!

She's back...

Remember I told you Babs, from Rubber Romance, would be back later in the week? Here she is. I found these bath fizzy balls in the clearance section of JoAnn's and couldn't resist, knew I could do something with them. The jar came from the home section of Target.

I think this makes a cute little gift. Or it would be nice to put out next to the bath tub when you have guests with some nice towels and lotion. A bit of pampering for guests is always nice.

I kept the colors soft here to go with the color of the fizzies. She has lots of stickles on her bubbles for some sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today. TGIF! So glad we have a three day weekend ahead of us. Hope you enjoy your weekend.

A quote from Winnie the Pooh

Hi everybody, I just realized that today is not Friday, bummer! I really thought it was Friday and was ready for the weekend. That's what happens when you are at home and not working. Oh well, one more weekday to go.

Here is another card I made for one of the Verve release week challenges (VSJAN10A). This challenge was to use chipboard. I have a ton of it, but rarely use it. I dug out some photo corners and glittered them up with MS glitter. I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch for this one (MTSC56).

I love these colors, the paper came from a new DCWV Valentine stack, the small print is all tiny x's and o's, really sweet. I think this will go to one of my boys for Valentine's day. They'll probably be more interested in the candy that will go along with it, LOL!

I've got to get working on a tooth fairy tin, for my oldest, he has a really loose tooth. I should have made it a while ago, when I got the stamps for it, but just didn't get to it.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps: Verve Hundred Hearts

Getting Ahead for 2010

My first card for Christmas 2010. I thought I'd try to make one each week this year so I'll have some ready next Christmas with no stress come December. Now, I know I'm one behind already, since we are in the second week of January, but oh well, not going to stress about it!

Sparkle has a challenge on her awesome blog each Sunday for a Christmas card to keep up on making them year round. Her challenge this week, #6 was to use embossing.

This also is my card for the Verve release week color challenge on SCS (VSJAN10C). The colors were black, gray and turquoise. Check out the challenges and the new release on Friday night. Can't wait to see what Julee has in store for us this month!

Lastly, this is for Tami's sketch challenge for our Glitterbees blog group. I left the bow off my card, since I didn't really have room for it. Check out the Glitterbees challenge blog and feel free to play along with us.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Verve Ornamental Christmas and Holly Jolly
Ink: Memento
Paper: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Gray
Embellishments: copics, crystal effects, cuttlebug embossing folders, dimensionals, SU brads and silver cord

Babs Taking a Bubble Bath

I love this Rubber Romance image, Babs. She is probably my very favorite, I have her in regular size and ATC size. I think she is so useful especially for gifts. I love to give homemade bath products, spa gift cards and gift sets from Bath and Body works as well. She makes a perfect card to go with that kind of gift. She's great for packaging up bath type gifts (I actually have another project using her later in the week).

For today's card I embossed and sponged to get a nice effect on the card without multiple layers. If you would like to see a small tutorial on how I did this, check out the Rubber Romance blog. I was able to quickly and easily finish this card. She is going to be one of a set going to my friend for her birthday. I plan to use the other ATC sized divas and use this same format to make a set.

There is also a sketch challenge posted on the Rubber Romance blog. A new one is posted on the 10th and 20th of every month. If you have some Rubber Romance stamps get them inky and enter the challenge, there is a Rubber Romance prize for every challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a great week.

Tuesdays with Robin

I got a chance to play with the Tuesday Morning Sketch #27 this week. It was a perfect sketch to showcase one of the Rubber Romance ATC sized diva stamps. I used Retro Robin her. She looks fabulous walking her dog!

I finally broke into my Basic Grey Phoebe paper pad. Love the blues and greens in this piece. Need to try to use it more and stop hoarding!

Her pants are paper pieced, and her hat, shirt, shoes and leash are glittered with a copic spica pen.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you had a great weekend!

Here's my take on the seventh sketch from the 12 days of sketches over at The Greeting Farm blog. I still have a few left to post. They really got me stamping last week.

So glad I got something done last week, because this week has not been very productive. I guess that's the way it goes!

How about a cup of tea?

I received a card in the mail not too long ago that included a tea bag inside. I loved it and was so tickled with the tiny treat inside, that I went immediately to SCS to search for a tutorial. I found this one on SCS to make a tea bag holder note card. Here is the link to Beate John's tutorial. It was quite simple, there are two versions to try. This is the second, I may give the first one a try later on. Cool thing is you can either include a tea bag or a flat chocolate square inside.

Here is the outside of my tea bag holder. I used Julia Loves to Read from Rubber Romance stamps, check out Julia and some of the new divas in the Etsy shop. I thought she looked perfect with her book and cup of tea or coffee. This little card will be for my son's preschool teacher. I always need to send a note about this or that to her and she likes home made cards. So I thought one with a little treat would be fun to send next time.

Here is the view of the inside. I chose my papers and cardstock to coordinate with the wrapper of my tea. This one is Vanilla Chai, and it's very yummy.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a cup of tea and stay warm!

Card Recipe: Julia from Rubber Romance, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, PTI Vintage Cream, Tangering Tango cardstock, SU retired dsp, SU border punch, copics, nesties, sakura glitter pen, MS ribbon, Bellas Baubles

Puddles of Love

I created this card for Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge (MTSC54) and for Club Anya and Friends New Years Day challenge. The New Years Day challenge was to use two colors you normally don't use (Not the Norm). I picked Not Quite Navy and So Saffron. While I really like So Saffron, Not Quite Navy is not a favorite of mine. I think the name says it all! I really like navy blue and to me Not Quite Navy just looks not quite right, LOL. Any way, I think they worked out fine, and I used up a sheet of neglected cardstock.

Thanks for dropping by today. Stay warm!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: TGF and Hanna Stamps
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Not Quite Navy, So Saffron, Patterned paper from a slab Christmas stack
Embellishments: copics, nesties, SU ribbon, EK success punch, dew drops, crystal effects, dimensionals

MoJo just in time

I'm trying to combine challenges this year. I love to do them and see that many people can incorporate many into one card, so I'm going to give that a try. This card was made for the MoJo Monday #119 challenge, the Crazy 4 Challenges polka dot challenge, (C4C18) and The Greeting Farm Club Anya and Friends Black Tie Challenge.

This Geisha Anya is so sweet, I love the book Memoirs of a Geisha and wanted her as soon as I saw her. She was sold out every time I tried to order, and then I received her as a gift from a stamping friend. So excited to use her!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Basic Black, MME black polka dot, PTI red polka dot

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone! Can it really be 2010? Where did 2009 go. I remember time used to pass so slowly, it seemed. Now a year passed me by in the blink of an eye. I must be getting old, LOL.

I made this little cutie for the day four of The Greeting Farm's 12 days of sketches challenge. I actually got all twelve done, not really sure how I did that. This one is headed out to my brother who had a birthday on the 30th of December. Yeah, I know it's late, but if you know me, it's not really late if it comes within the month. Maybe that should be one of my resolutions.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: TGF Ian, PTI sentiment
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Basic Black, Going Gray, Basic Gray PTI ssw, patterned paper scrap
Embellishments: Mini brads, copics, sakura silver gel pen, dimensionals, quickutz embossing folder
