Red, White and Blue and/or Christmas too

The DT challenge over at D2D this week is red, white and blue, but since it is the last challenge of the month and that is usually our Christmas challenge, it has the option of adding Christmas, too. I thought this was a fun one. And I'm building up a nice little stash of Christmas cards for next year!

I went with the image Bear's Big Gift and colored him with red, white and blue. His gift is sparkled up with stickles and his boots are covered with glossy accents.

I've gone with one of my favorite weekly sketches. This is Sketchy Thursday #136 from Tracy at Eat Sleep Stamp. You've got to check out her sketches if you haven't yet, they are always awesome!

The weekly stamp of the month challenge and the DT challenge are still going on at Designed2Delight, so stop by and enter for some chances to win.

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week.

SFYTT with Stamping Bella

The June sketch from Jen del Muro (SFYTT) was a fun one, and it is sponsored by Stamping Bella. I had to give it a go. I have so many neglected Bellas, I forget how much fun they are to color.

This stamp is actually a new one from my friend Angela. It came in a card kit with these fun papers, thanks Angela!

I always think Stella calls for a significant amount of glitter. So I've stickled the waves, shoes, wand and crown on her.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week.

Whimsy and Stars Little Ladybug

Happy Saturday! I've got another card using a new release digi image from Whimsy and Stars. I'm still working my way through the new images, they are so much fun, I want to play with all of them.

I love lady bugs, I dressed Lilah as one last Halloween. I think this Little Ladybug image is so sweet. I used one of the recent sketches on SCS for the layout of this one. It's a rather simple layout, since I printed the image a bit larger than I usually do.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Phindy's Friday Challenge

Welcome to another Phindy's Friday Challenge. The challenge this week is round and round. Use some circles on your card. I thought this little player, Baseball Boy, would be perfect for the challenge. I've added lots of circles to mine.

I think this one will go to my son's baseball coach, he has taught them so much this year. It's unbelievable what a difference a dedicated coach makes. This guy goes above and beyond to make sure they learn how to play the game the right way. It's not about winning or losing, but learning the fundamentals (although of course it is more fun when you are winning). We were so lucky to have him this year.

Hope you will join the fun and play along. You don't need to use a Phindy's image to play along, but we love to see them when you do! And you'll get a second entry into the drawing if you use one.

Thanks for dropping by today. Have a lovely weekend!

Happy Wednesday. Got a sweet little card to share, using the freebie from Designed2Delight this week, it's called Fresh Cut. Isn't it a cute little vase of cut flowers? I really love the hearts that are in the bouquet too.
I've used my favorite weekly sketch for it. This one is Sketchy Thursday #135 from Tracy at Eat Sleep Stamp. Such wonderful sketches each week! I'm also entering it in the Shabby Tea Room challenge #67~ classic patterns. There is an inspiration photo with the addition of gingham and polka dots. (I used some gingham ribbon and a polka dot embossing folder.

And here is a little close up. I coated the vase in crackle accents for a vintage look. It is really cool in real life.

This one is going to my son's first grade teacher, she was really wonderful this year, and taught him so much. His favorite color is orange, so I had to work a fair amount of that into the card as well.

Phindy's Friday Challenge

TGIF! Time for another Phindy's Friday Challenge. The theme this week is black and white with a touch of color. Wow, there are so many different Phindy images that would work well for this one, it was hard to chose one. So, I decided to make two.

Hope you will pop on over to the challenge blog and see what the DT has created this week. Play along with the challenge to win some prizes. It's not necessary to use a Phindy image, but if you do you get entered twice, so that is some pretty good incentive!.

For my first card I used the image Scoops of Love. I tried my hand at black and white coloring here, it was fun to do and I just added a touch of pink for fun.

For this second one, I used the image May I have this dance? to make a Father's Day card for my hubby from Lilah. This time I went all black and white with the card elements and colored the image. This  uses a sketch from the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge blog (SSS112) for the layout.

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Whimsy and Stars sneak peek

Happy Thursday everyone! Got a bit of excitement here today, a sneak peek of Mabelle RO's Whimsy and Stars summer release! I'm not sure how she did it again, but she did. These images are so cute! You can get a glimpse of some of them in the banner above.

I'm calling this one Lilah and Teddy! That isn't actually the name, but I was stunned at how much this image resembles Lilah, all that sweet baby chubbiness and round face. Isn't this a darling little image? I'm in love with this one (and all nine of the others). They will be released on June 18th and available in the ETSY store. On Saturday Mabelle will be showing more DT samples on the Whimsy and Stars blog, too.

Here is my take using the gorgeous perfume bottle and dark contrast of the countertops for inspiration. I always have a tough time with inspiration challenges. Hope people can see where I drew the elements from.

Our sponsor this week is Tiffany Doodles, they provided me with this gorgeous Forsythia Vase image to work with. Hope you will play along for a chance to win a prize from them.

Now pop on over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog and be inspired by Angela's photo and the DT creations.

Sassy Studio Release Day

We've got a fun release for you today from Sassy Studio Designs. The theme of the release is movies. We are having a blog hop so you can see all the new images. If you arrived from Sara's blog you are in the right spot.

My first sample used the new Romeo and Juliet image. I used this week's Midnight Madness sketch #107 for the layout of it, I actually went with the fancy version this week. I usually stick with the CAS version, but thought this image worked well with the pearl flourish. Image is colored with copics, some stickles for sparkle and paired with some of my hoarded BG Capella paper.

My second card uses on of the Twilight images called Twilight Frame. I used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch #105 for the layout. Image is colored with copics, and paired with some DCWV Valentine paper.

You'll want to check out the SSD blog today for information on tonight's chat (at 8pm EST). It is also the second birthday of Sassy Studios, so there will be a scavenger hunt and prize.

Thanks for dropping by today! Now hop on over and see what the talented Julie has created.

One for the Guys

The DT challenge this week at Designed2Delight is to make a manly card without flowers. So I made a cute Father's Day card to give to my hubby. I went for a clean and simple look here, he doesn't really go for frou frou things.

I used the Midnight Madness sketch challenge #106. I went with the simple version of the sketch.

The image is called Fishing Valentine. I did add a touch of glitter to the hearts (lol, hope this doesn't make it girly). Hope you will join us and play along this week.

Phindy's Friday Challenge

TGIF! Time for another Phindy's Friday Challenge. The challenge this week is a sketch challenge. The fantastic sketch was designed by our fellow design teamie Anne-Marije. Here is my take on the sketch using the Bountiful Bouquet image from Phindy's Place. One really cool thing about this image is that it comes in four styles (boy, girl, African American boy, African American girl), you can see all of them in the Cute Kids section. I think it's great to have these options!

Her is a close up, I had trouble capturing the glitter on the orange flowers. It is prettier in real life!

Hope you will check out the Phindy's Friday challenge blog and see what the other DT members have created and play along with us this week. You don't have to use a Phindy's image to play along, but if you do you get a second entry into the random drawing!

If you arrived from  Tina's  Crafty Place blog you are in the right spot. If you just happened upon my blog you can start at the beginning of the hop at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge blog.

The image I used for my card is called Bloomin' Potty. I used the Eat, Sleep, Stamp Sketchy Thursday #133 for the layout here. I printed the image three times and cut and layered the flowers for dimension.

Here is a close up to see the dimension on these blooms, I colored them to look like one of my fave flowers gerbera daisies. A touch of stickles in the centers and some crystal effects on the leafs.

Now for a special treat Jules has graciously allowed each stop to give away the image they used. So one random commenter will win this Bloomin' Potty image. Leave me a comment on this post and I'll pick a random comment on Sunday night.

There is a big sale going on in the store this weekend (50% off everything), so head on over to the store for the deets and to pick up those images you've been eyeing. June 15 The Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge blog will be posting a new challenge where a DD image is necessary to participate, so you can pick up an image now, while they are on sale!
