Sassy Sneak Peek

Happy Wednesday! Tomorrow, July 1st, Sassy Studio is releasing several new digi stamps. This Little Honey Sailor is one of them, I'm giving you a peek at her today. She's so cute, a little sexy, a little retro. I think I even had a sailor outfit (minus the hat) like this was I was a kid.

Also, today Sassy Studio is sponsoring the challenge at CAS-tastic challenge blog. Check it out, and you could win four SSD images. I used their sketch for this card. I don't usually do CAS, but this sketch was fun and easy. I think I'll be using it again soon.

Don't forget my blog candy closes at 12 midnight EST today. So get your entry in if your interested. I plan to let the boys pick the names out of the hat tomorrow, so I'll announce the winners then.

Stop back tomorrow to see more of the Sassy Studio releases for July. They are really fun images! Hope you are having a wonderful week.

A Bit of Blog Candy (ends June 30th)

Hi everyone, well yesterday was my one year blogaversary. It has been such a fun year, I've met so many wonderful new people, became a member of the Rubber Romance Design Team, joined challenges and blogging groups, learned new techniques and even ventured into the world of digi stamps.

It has been a fabulous year. I'm always touched by the sweet comments you leave me, I read them all and they bring so much joy. I get super excited to find a new follower added too. I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your support and friendship!

To celebrate I would like to give away a bit of blog candy. Here is what is included in the pic: Magnolia Magician Tilda, The Greeting Farm Fleur Anya, Basic Grey Green at Heart 6x6 paper pad, Robin's Nest rain drop dew drops, PTI spring mix buttons, Prima flowers and 3 bottles of stickles. I will leave it open til the end of the month (12 am on June 30th).

Here are the Rules:
1. Post a comment here if you would like to win.
2. If you would like, follow my blog. Not going to make this a rule to win, don't want to force anyone to follow me, but any followers will get their name in the drawing twice. And be entered for a little followers gift, too.
3. Spread the word. Feel free to mention it or link it on your blog or sidebar.
4. The winner will have three days to contact me, if I don't hear from them I will pick another name.

And a little some thing for my followers! I'm also giving away 1 yard of ribbon and one 6x6 piece of patterned paper for each follower I have (so right now, that is 61 yards of ribbon and 61 6x6 sqaures of patterned paper. By leaving a comment here and being a follower, you will be entered into this drawing, as well as getting two entries into the main blog candy drawing. If I get any additional followers before the end of the blog candy give away, I will add to the ribbon and paper. I don't have a photo of this yet, but trust me it will be a fun assortment of good quality ribbon and paper.

Thanks so much for sharing my first year in blog land with me. Looking forward to many more.

Hugs~Kathy

Sleeping Chantal

Boy, do I wish I looked this good sleeping! If how I look in the morning is any indication, I don't look like Chantal from Rubber Romance when I sleep, LOL!

I chose my colors from this MME patterned paper, and it's funny the gold couch reminds me of growing up, we had gold and wine colored velvet furniture (it was the 70's what can I say). I always loved this one gold velvet chair with tassels we had. I'm sure I would think it was tacky today. Anyway it was fun to relive the 70's with this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Chantal from Rubber Romance
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, MME Home collection patterned paper
Embellishments: copics, stickles, corner rounder, SU ribbon, dimensionals, nesties

Beary Big Gift

I was just tickled when I saw this image, Beary Big Gift, from Designed2Delight this week. With three little boys, I'm always needing good images for boyish cards. This sweet bear is just perfect. I colored him up with some boyish colors. Kept him pretty simple (no bows or flowers) since it will be for a boy. But I did pop up his paws on dimensionals, looks real cute in real life.

He was the last stamp of D2D's progressive challenge for June. Check them out on Friday for the first stamp for July. It's a progressive challenge, you grab the first week's image for free, create something with it, then you will get the next week's stamp. If you want to jump in mid month, all the digi stamps are available for sale in the D2D digi shop.

And a fun announcement, I was selected for the new D2D design team! I'm very excited to be a part of the team. I've been using Faith's digis for several months, in fact they were the first digis I tried. I love her cheerful and fun images and look forward to working with them over the next three months.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Blooming Pansy

Friday night on SCS was the Verve release party. I made this card for one of the challenges. I love this sentiment and the flower is just so pretty, too.

Pansies are one of my favorite flowers. If you are a Martha Stewart wannabe, like me, you probably have even cooked with them. I've used Martha's recipe to bake them into sugar cookies, and dry and sugar them with egg whites to use for cake decorations. I did all this in my PK days (pre kiddos).

Anyway, enough about my culinary adventures, thanks for stopping by today. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Magnolia-licious June Christmas Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop. Once a month the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group holds a Christmas card blog hop. It's a great way to get some Christmas cards made year round. I just looked at my stash today and was thrilled that I have a nice selection of Magnolia Christmas cards ready for next year! If you want more info check out the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long blog.

This is one of my first Tildas and remains one of my favorites. She looks so cute in her skating outfit and skates. For the layout of this card I used Midnight Madness sketch (MMSC59). I also used Sparkle's Christmas card challenge #29 this week, it was a recipe challenge to use 3 dsps, 2 buttons, 1 ribbon and a transparency. I die cut some snowflakes from a transparency and edged them in stickles.

Thanks for stopping by today. Now hop on over to Kerry's blog and see what she has created.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Magnolia
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, and PTI Christmas patterned paper
Embellishments: nesties, copics, stickles, crystal effects, SU ribbon, MM rhinestone brads, PTI buttons

Bubbly Babs

When I saw the sketch challenge at SCS, (SC286), yesterday, I knew I wanted to flip it sideways and use Babs from Rubber Romance. This is the ATC sized version.

The kraft cardstock is cuttlebugged, so it looks like bubbles, love that folder!

Well, it's going to be short and sweet today. First day of summer vacation and two of the kiddos are sick, bummer! We were planning to have some fun and special treats, but think that's going to have to wait.

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you are having a great week!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Babs from Rubber Romance
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Choc. Chip, Kraft, Pretty in Pink and SU patterned paper
Embellishments: copics, nesties, stickles, cuttlebug tiny bubbles embossing folder, bella dots, dimensionals, Fiskars border punch

Magazine Margie

One more school day left here. I made this card as a thank you for my son's Kindergarten teacher. I'm giving it to her along with a book store gift card. She was very gung- ho about teaching reading and appreciation for books, which I think is so great. We love reading and it's so exciting to pass that on to the kids and see them learn how to read.

This darling image is Magazine Margie from Sassy Studio Designs. Isn't she fabulous?! Good news is I'll be seeing a lot more of her and her sassy friends, because I just became a member of the Sassy Studio Design team. So very excited to work with Lindsay's fun images and the other talented ladies on the team!

The sketch for this came from Cute Card Thursdays challenge #117, perfect for a larger image! I used the nestie die cut to cut her out, because I think it looks like a book. Gotta run with the theme!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are staying cool!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Sassy Studio Magazine Margie, PTI sentiment
Ink: Printer, palette noir
Paper: gp110, PTI Spring Moss, SU Only Orange, DCWV Citrus Stack

Tweet Friend

When I saw today's MoJo144~MoJo Monday sketch, I knew it would work perfectly with this image from Designed2Delight digi shop. The bird is so sweet, and the sentiment almost made me cry. I don't know if you can read it in the pic, but it says "A true friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words". How lovely is that? So true about special friends. I want to use this sentiment as the main focal point on a card soon, just print it out larger.

The bird and sentiment were the freebie for week three of June for the D2D progressive challenge.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. Only two days of school left for us. Ready for some summer vacation! Hope you are starting a great week.

Mice Wishes from D2D

I'm cutting it pretty close with the Designed2Delight progressive challenge this week. I had some company and haven't had a chance to craft much this week. And my hubby is at the Yankee game tonight, so I had to handle the bedtime bedlam all by myself! LOL! Got them all down by 8:20 and headed to my craft room to do a card with this adorable "Mice Wishes" image. You can check out all of the Designed2Delight stamps in the D2D digi shop.

I really love these colors together. I used some of this PTI paper last week and reached for it again tonight to go with this little mouse. I wanted to have some pink on the mouse, so this worked perfectly.

Just a funny little aside, I'm scared of mice, really scared! That is my biggest phobia! The last hospital where I worked was infested, really gross I know! I can deal with bugs, spiders, bees, snakes, just about anything but a rodent!

Thanks for dropping by today!

Babs in the Bubble Bath

Here she is again, Babs, my go to Rubber Romance stamp. I think she is definitely one of my favorites, I love to color her and stickle up the bubbles. Maybe it's because I always wanted a claw foot bath tub.

No special sketch for her, the stamp is big enough to stand alone without too many embellies. I used the tiny bubbles embossing folder in the background and some Bellas Baubles, both remind me of water.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you are having a great week.

Katie easel card

I think Rubber Romance stamps are so well suited to easel cards. The images and coordinating sentiments just make the perfect combinations. If you have not checked out the Rubber Romance sentiments that are available, do it. There are some really funny ones as well as lots of sweet ones

I used this tutorial from SCS to learn how to make an easel card, once you know the general how tos, you can make them any size. My card today uses Katie and the birthday diva sentiment

Here is a view of the lower half of the card, so you can see the sentiment. Katie is colored with copics and her dress is paper pieced. Some glitter on her shoes and balloon strings and she is ready for a party. I'm entering her in the KLSNS #34 challenge for a girly birthday card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you are off to the start of a wonderful week.

Sassy Pizza Box

I love these little pizza boxes, I've made lots of them for gifts. They are perfect for holding gift cards or smallish gifts (think jewelry). I usually get my nieces one or the other. When I saw this free image from Sassy Studio, Prom Cameo, I thought it would be the perfect image for a little box to hold the add a pearl necklace gifts I often get for them. I even added a pearl to the center of her necklace.Below you can take a look at the box from the side view. I dressed it up a bit with a MS border punch and ribbon.

Potted Pink Daisies

I love this Potted Flowers image from Designed2Delight. I actually just bought a bunch of Gerber Daisies in pots to hang out front. They are so pretty and are supposed to do well in full sun. Now I don't have the greenest thumb, so I'm hoping they make it!

This is the first image from June for Faith's progressive challenge she holds each month. She has lots of other great images available in the Designed2Delight digi shop.

The sketch challenge on SCS this morning (SC284) was perfect for the shape of this image, so I used that. I also cut into more of my Basic Grey paper, I've been getting better about using it. I have so much sitting there, I should really enjoy it and stop hoarding! This little card is going to a special friend who just sent me the nicest gift. Can't go into detail, cause she might read my blog!

Too Much Cake

TGIF! Looking forward to the weekend. I seem to have caught a bad cold, so I'm hoping to rest a bit.

This bright little number is one of the cards I worked on this week for the Wish Rak Cards for the Troops challenges over on SCS. The cards will be sent overseas to troops serving in our military.

This one was an inspiration challenge, based on a little girls bedroom ensemble. As you can see it was a bright room! This stamp came to me from my dear stamping friend Linda Palmer in a Wish Rak exchange package. It is such a darling stamp! Thanks Linda. Probably tough to see, but the candles are coated in crystal effects, so they look realistic.

Well, thanks for dropping by today. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hot Air Thinking of You

Hope everyone enjoyed their long holiday weekend. We ate more than our share of hamburgers and hot dogs. We were very lucky to have sunshine all weekend, too. Thanks to those of you who served, are serving or have family members serving our country in the military. Your service to our country is deeply appreciated.

This card was made for one of the VLVMay2010 challenges on SCS. It is a sketch challenge with inspiration pictures. This was one of the May sketches. I didn't get them all done on time in May, but wanted to use this fun sketch anyway. Going to try to start the June sketch right away, so I don't get behind.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week.
