Sassy Studio's Sponsorship with a Sneak Peek

Today is the last Saturday of Practical Scrappers month long sponsorship from Sassy Studio Designs. This week the challenge is white pen. I used my white gel pen to embellish the mat edges of this card. Play along for the chance to win some Sassy Studio Designs images.

And did you see who it is? The Little Mermaid!!! This is a sneak peek from the September first release at SSD. If you are a Disney fan, you are in for a big treat with this release.

The Little Mermaid is probably my favorite Disney movie of all time. I was singing Under the Sea all night while I made this card. LOL, you should be glad you weren't here! The boys don't much care about Ariel and other girly Disney movies, so I can't wait til Lilah can watch it with me!

Happy Days!

This hot air balloon image from the Verve Up, Up and Away set just makes my happy! I love hot air balloons, I know I've mentioned it before, but I was lucky enough to go on a hot air balloon ride in Napa with my hubby (boyfriend at the time). It was about 11 years ago, but it was one of the coolest things I've ever done!

This is from the VLV August sketch challenges on the Verve forum of SCS, this was the forth sketch for the month. It is also an inspiration challenge, I picked one of the posted photos that had bedding in these colors. Unusual color combo, but fun for a change. We are on to the September sketch challenges over there now, every month I vow to try to keep up, we'll see if I do a bit better this month.

So glad it is Friday, weekend is coming. My hubby traveled this week and will be home very late tonight. I really need a break tomorrow, the kids are fighting like crazy. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge

It's Dare to Be Sassy Thursday again at Sassy Studio Designs! The theme this week is a back to school teacher gift.

I saw the corner bookmark tutorial on SCS and decided to give it a try. It was really quite simple to put together. I usually give gift cards as teacher gifts, but thought this would go perfectly with a Barnes and Noble gift card. The image I used is Magazine Margie from Sassy Studio.

Play along for a chance to win two SSD images.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a great week. We have had three days of rain here. Too late for the plants and grass but still much needed. Looks like the sun might be back today.

Army Honey

Hello and happy Saturday! My hubby took the two older boys to Sesame Place for the day, so I'll have an easy day. Funny to consider spending the day with two kiddos under the age of two an easy day for me, LOL. It's all relative, I guess!

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Stamp Scrap and Doodle Saturdays challenge this week. The challenge is to use Kraft. When I saw that I knew I had to play along. I love Kraft card stock, such a great neutral. I'm working on a box of cards to send to the soldier we sponsor in Afghanistan. And this little Army Honey card will go in it. This one uses the Blue Skies set from Verve. Great set with some fab quotes. This card went postal this morning to my Chemo Angel buddy, I thought it was a wonderful sentiment to send to her.

Practical Scrappers SSD sponsorship

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Practical Stampers blog challenge this week. The theme is stitching, pretty easy, so give it a try! One lucky winner will get a SSD image of their choice.

I love stitching on my cards, it's pretty much the only use my sewing machine gets. Here I stitched the vellum embossed background to the peach cardstock. I love stitching vellum, since it is hard to adhere it without showing the adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are having a good weekend. We have a break in temps so it has been cooler.

We are working on painting Lilah's room a nice soft pink. Hopefully I'll post some pics, if it turns out how I'm picturing it. Funny thing is we painted it lavender before she was born, then I couldn't find bedding to go with the color. Silly to pick paint first. My hubby is probably ready to kill me, LOL! I told him, I think Lilah will love the pink room and he said "I'm sure she would have been fine with purple." He's being a very good sport about it, especially since he has two apprentice painters aged 4 and 6 working with him. I think I'm going to owe him big!

Card Recipe:
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI ssw, bazzil peach (2 different shades), SU vellum cardstock, Garden Green
Embellishments: copics, nesties, cuttlebug embossing folder, stickles, primas, MS branch punch, sewing machine, Bellas pearl baubles

Audrey in Rome

So glad it is Friday! Looking forward to a relaxing weekend with the family at home.

I was digging through my Rubber Romance stamps tonight and found Audrey in Rome, she was still looking newish, LOL, that means I've never inked her up! I've had her for quite a while and love how elegant she looks sitting with her ice cream cone. She isn't currently listed on the Rubber Romance etsy store, but if you want her, just email Robin and she can get it for you.

The size and shape fit perfectly with the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge for this week (TMSC54). I pieced her sundress with the same paper I used in the background.

I'm usually not a big bear lover, but I love the vintage style of this one. It looks warn and loved. It would make a great baby card, but since I didn't need one right now, I went with a more general theme.

Going on a Bug Hunt!

This image from Designed2Delight called Bug Hunt totally makes me smile. It fit right in with the theme of the first VSN challenge on Friday night: Nature.

I'm not really an outdoorsy kind of girl, but my hubby and kids are. They were so captivated by a frog my hubby caught last weekend while mowing the lawn. Ewww, was my opinion. And I bet you can guess what I said when they wanted to keep it! LOL, no way. He was set free, I told them his mother probably missed him.

If you have a chance, check out this week's progressive challenge at Delightful Inspiration. And don't forget to drop by CDAC and see the challenge Designed2Delight is hosting, (it comes with a free image)!

Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop

If you are here for the Sassy Studio Designs Release Blog Hop, please scroll down to the next post.

Happy 3rd Anni-VERVE-sary to Verve! Welcome to the blog hop to celebrate. If you arrived from Angela's blog you are on the right track. If not, why don't you start at the beginning, Julee's blog (the owner of Verve). She has some important info regarding prizes, so you don't want to miss out! If you get lost any time along the way, you can refer to the Blog Hop Master List.

I love all my Verve stamps (and there are a lot to love in my collection, LOL)! But, I always say that no other company does sentiments as well as Verve, so I decided to use a sentiment as the focus of my card today. This one is from the Believe set. $10 from each sale of this set goes to the Susan G. Komen search for the cure. How cool is that? Such a powerful and lovely message here, this is one of my favorites! I used one of my favorite older MoJo Monday sketches for the layout (#103).

Happy Anni-VERVE-sary Julee and Verve! Wishing you continued success and many more Anni-VERVE-saries in the years to come!

Thanks so much for hopping along today! Your next stop is Cheri's blog.
