Some Sunday Verve Fun

I had a bit of free time and just wanted to play around with some of my Verve stamps, they don't see enough ink.

I went right to the MoJo Monday sketch #283 for this week and decided it would be perfect to use for my card.

Then I checked out the Diva Dare challenge for March. It's a good one, but kind of tough, too, lol!
It's called "Just Give Me Stamps, Buttons and Bling". The challenge is to create a card combining the styles of two of the Verve Divas. Here are the links to their creations: Diva Laurie here and Diva Maureen's Verve creations here

So here is what I was inspired by. Moe uses a lot of white card bases (something I never do, but love the look), so I started there, and from her I also picked up the rhinestone sprinkles around the sentiment, she always does that and it looks awesome. I also was inspired by her use of buttons and twine. Then I was off to be inspired by Laurie's creations. I took inspiration from her use of lots of mixes of dsp, stitching and plenty of layers. Oh my gosh, I could have spent hours admiring the creations of both diva! Love both of their styles! Really fun challenge, the tough part was to try to mesh two different styles!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Verve Feel the Sun, Verve Bloom and Grow

Paper: PTI ssw, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, SU Old Olive, MME Bramble Rose

Reading to Sissy

Here is another Phindy's card for you.  I bought a bunch of images and keep printing them off to color.  This may be my favorite image yet, it is called Reading to Sissy, and the reason I love it so much is that they look exactly like Liam and Lilah.  Last night while I was working on this, my dh looked over at it and said, wow, they look just like our kids!  Too funny!

So I decided to make a thank you card to send to my grandmother for the generous Christmas gift she sent.  I think she'll love it!  I made it for the Phindy's Place challenge #36 (Give Thanks with scraps).  The scraps are from my box of Christmas paper scrap pieces.  The sketch I used was the MoJo Monday sketch #172.

Thanks so much for dropping by today.  Hope you are having a great week!

Some Delightful MoJo

I haven't played along with the MoJo Monday sketch (MoJo Monday 165) in a while.  When I saw the tilted panel, I thought it was too fun to resist.

This image is called Cardinal & Winterberries from Designed2Delight.  He is popped up for some dimension.  The berries are glazed with Crystal Effects and the ice is coated with stickles.  The effect is really pretty in real life.

Snow Angel

This is my take on the MoJo Monday sketch (MOJO159) for this week.  I love this Snow Angel image from Designed2Delight, and it fit perfectly in the sketch for this week.

I also made it for the challenge going on all month on SCS, it is called Hope you Can Cling to. This was the first challenge posted for a pink holiday card.  The challenge is going on during all of October, since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  I love making cards, but I think my favorite part is giving them away, especially for a good cause.  So check out the details and participate if you can.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you are having a great week.

Delightful Cause

These flowers are from Peace and Comfort, the weekly freebie in the progressive challenge at Delightful Inspiration.  If you didn't play along with us last week, you can find them in the Designed2Delight digi shop.  They come with some sympathy sentiments and an image with the flowers and a cross.  I couldn't bring myself to make a sympathy card when I didn't need one.  I'm superstitious like that!

Instead I made a thank you card.  This one is going to a special cause.  You can get all the info here.  Cammie is holding a  Heart to Heart Card Drive in honor of her grandmother who passed away in 2008.  The cards are for the caregivers working at the nursing home who lovingly cared for her grandmother who had Alzheimers.  I participated last time and I have to say it is such a great feeling to do something like this.  We all know how important those special people are who take care of the elderly and the sick.  My own grandmother is in a nursing home right now, and I know the people who work there make all the difference to her.  So go check out Cammie's blog and make and send a card if you can.  She is also offering a chance at a HUGE blog candy for those who participate.

I followed the MoJo Monday sketch (MoJo158) for this card.  I love the sketch for the last Monday of the month, it is always a round or square sketch.  Fun to change it up a bit.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Designed2Delight Peace and Comfort, PTI sentiment
Ink:  printer, Green Galore
Paper:  PTI  ssw, Lemon Tart, New Leaf, BG patterned

School Days

First full week of school for us here. The kids are enjoying it, but I'm a bit discombobulated. Trying to get out the door by 8:15 is a challenge. We'll get into a routine quickly though.

Our floors came out great! We are in the process of putting back the closets and other small items upstairs. The workmen somehow knocked out our phone line, so we are without a phone right now. Thank goodness for cell phones!

I thought this Tilda would be perfect for this week. She is one of the older ones and is slightly different in style.
I love them all though, both new and old! I used MoJo Monday sketch 156 for the layout. The background is different papers layered, it looks kind of like one layer in the photo, but it is actually two different dsp cut and layered.

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you are having a great week!

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw and Dark Chocolate, SU Old Olive and Kraft, TCP shcool patterned paper

Tweet Friend

When I saw today's MoJo144~MoJo Monday sketch, I knew it would work perfectly with this image from Designed2Delight digi shop. The bird is so sweet, and the sentiment almost made me cry. I don't know if you can read it in the pic, but it says "A true friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words". How lovely is that? So true about special friends. I want to use this sentiment as the main focal point on a card soon, just print it out larger.

The bird and sentiment were the freebie for week three of June for the D2D progressive challenge.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. Only two days of school left for us. Ready for some summer vacation! Hope you are starting a great week.

Card Recipe:
Ink: printer
Paper: GP110, Choc. Chip, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery dsp

Riley likes Guinness

Another card with Riley and Origins paper. I still had some out and thought it was perfect for St. Patrick's Day cards. The sketch I used for this one is MoJo Monday sketch #128.

I think Riley's beer looks like Guinness, because of it's dark color. This one is going to my good friend with whom I spent many nights in an Irish pub in Wilmington, O'Friell's. Such a fun place to listen to live Irish music. Sadly it's not even open anymore.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Riley Moose, PTI sentiment
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, New Leaf, Kraft, Basic Grey Origins
Embellishments: nesties, copics, stickles, crystal effects, dimensionals, sewing, rhinestones from Michaels, SU corner rounder

MOJO Does Yoga

Here is my take on this weeks MOJO Monday sketch challenge, MOJO122. I used a circle rather than an oval, it was actually a mistake, I didn't print off the sketch, and remembered a circle. Oh well, close enough for me. I should play more Sudoku to improve my memory, LOL!

I just bought this little cutie from The Greeting Farm, she is called Yoga Anya. I love yoga stamps and have quite a few, not sure why as I don't know how to do yoga.

TGIF! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Yoga Anya from TGF, sentiment from MFT

MoJo just in time

I'm trying to combine challenges this year. I love to do them and see that many people can incorporate many into one card, so I'm going to give that a try. This card was made for the MoJo Monday #119 challenge, the Crazy 4 Challenges polka dot challenge, (C4C18) and The Greeting Farm Club Anya and Friends Black Tie Challenge.

This Geisha Anya is so sweet, I love the book Memoirs of a Geisha and wanted her as soon as I saw her. She was sold out every time I tried to order, and then I received her as a gift from a stamping friend. So excited to use her!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: The Greeting Farm
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Basic Black, MME black polka dot, PTI red polka dot
Embellishments: copics, stickles, dimensionals, offray ribbon, Doodlebug brads, MM black rhinestone

Playing in the Rain

I made this card for last weeks MoJo challenge. I thought it was a nice and simple sketch that was perfect for a larger image like this one. This little guy is Kai in the Rain, from Mo's Digital Pencil. Kids can't seem to stay out of puddles! I noticed recently all the kids at the bus stop were jumping in puddles before school. I couldn't bear to sit all day with wet feet, but one little boy told me he doesn't mind! I guess that's what being little is all about.

Thanks for stopping by today. I'm doing some Christmas baking. All the gifts are purchased, just need a wrapping marathon now. Hope you all are having a great week. To all my East Coast friends, stay warm and safe. We were hit hard with snow over the weekend.

Card Recipe:
Ink: printer ink
Paper: PTI white and Orange Crush, Night of Navy, Wild Wasabi, MME patterned paper
Embellishments: MS border punch, nesties, copics, PTI ribbon, corner rounder, stickles, crystal effects
