Flutterby Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! It's time for another Flutterby Wednesdays challenge. This week our challenge is to create a wedding or anniversary card (in honor of our blog owner and sweet leader Danni, she is celebrating an anniversary this week)! Congrats Danni! Just don't forget to have a fairy or butterfly on your creation somewhere. Hope you like it and will play along.

We have a fabulous sponsor this week, A Day For Daisies. Tammy has the cutest images and a great variety. She very generously allowed the DT to pick an image to create with and I selected this beautiful Forever Begins Here.

My sketch comes from Sketch and Stash Challenge 112. My image is new and my stash item are the pink K and Co gems, I've hoarded them for years.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you will check out the DT creations at Flutterby Wednesdays and play along this week.

Dare to be Sassy Thursday

It's Thursday again, that means time for a Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge at Sassy Studio Designs. This week our challenge is Mother's Day or for a special woman. I don't really plan on celebrating mother's day this year, since my mom is gone, and my grandmother just passed away in March. So I went with a card for a special woman. I will be sending this to my chemo angel patient who is battling breast cancer right now. I hope it will brighten her day!

You don't need to use a SSD image to enter, but you get two chances to win if you do use one. Check out the DT creations and play along!

My sketch comes from Tuesday Morning Sketches #195, it was a great one this week and I had to play along.

Ink: printer
Paper: copic xpress, PTI Kraft, Hibiscus Burst, Dk. Choc., MAMBI prints

Bugaboo Tutorial Day

It's my day to do a little tutorial over at Bugaboo for my guest design team term. I've decided to do a little quick tutorial on using up some scraps. If you are anything like me (hoarder, lol) you probably have saved so many pieces of DSP that are just too pretty to throw out.

I started by cutting lots of my scraps into 3/4 inch strips. I put them aside and let the pile grow.

After I had a good stack of them I  glued them onto some white card stock. I picked patterns and colors that I liked together and just laid them out until I  liked the look, then I glued them down.

After I had the backgrounds made, I thought they looked a bit like quilt blocks, so I went with the theme and shopped the Bugaboo store for some sewing images.

For each card I colored my Bugaboo digi to go with the background then stitched around the patterned background and added some twine tied buttons, to give it a homey feel and continue with the sewing theme.

Recipe:
Ink: printer
Paper: copic xpress, PTI Kraft, PTI New Leaf, PTI Dk. Choc, PTI Plum Pudding, PTI Orange Zest, SU Purely Pomegranate, unknown scraps
Extras: copics, sewing machine, PTI buttons and twine
