Brienne

This is one of my newest Rubber Romance stamps, Brienne the bridesmaid. I think she could be used for many other occasions though. I made a sweet little card that would be perfect as a thinking of you for a friend.

I had some of the scraps of the DCWV citrus stack on my desk, so I decided to draw the colors from them. I'm loving orange and turquoise lately, so summery. I based the layout on SC281, from last week on Splitcoaststampers.

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope all of you in the US have a fun Memorial Day weekend. If you are around on SCS this weekend, the Wish Rak forum is holding some Memorial Day Cards for the Troops challenges. Check them out, a good way to say thanks to those serving in the war.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Spring Moss, SU Only Orange, DCWV citrus stack

Purr-fect Friend

Happy Friday! I'm so glad the weekend has arrived.

When I saw the Midnight Madness sketch this week (MMSC54), I knew I wanted to play along. The long rectangular panel was perfect for a Magnolia image, and I had this new one that had never seen ink before.

I selected my colors from The Play Date Cafe's color challenge this week (PDCC30), The beautiful springy combination of pink, light green and pale yellow was their challenge for the week. I'm also entering it in the The ABC Challenge~U is for Unused stash. I dug into my stash of Papertreyink buttons that I've been hoarding. I used twelve buttons on this one and didn't even make a dent in my stash. Finally, it also qualifies for KLNS30~Show some love to our animal friends.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. We have some soccer and baseball games tomorrow, then company coming on Sunday. Should be a fun weekend.

Rubber Romance meets easel

I've been seeing all these fabulous easel cards everywhere, so I decided to give it a try. It was super simple. When I saw the new image and sentiment Robin from Rubber Romance sent to me, I thought it would be perfect for this type of card. Love how it worked out. Don't you think Hyacinth looks so pretty doing her gardening? Yep, she's fully made up, too. Can't have a diva without her face "on".

Here is a peek at the bottom part of the easel. I just love this quote, also from Rubber Romance. So inspiring I think. I'm sending this to my aunt who is an avid gardener. She inherited her green thumb from my pop pop. I don't have a green thumb myself!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a lovely week.

I was able to make this card for a number of challenges this week. My wonderful SBS29 sisters all love to participate in lots of challenges, they gave me some tips for keeping track of what is out there! Thanks friends!

Stella Takes a Bubble Bath

It's been a week since I've posted, just couldn't seem to get anything done last week. Every time I got into my office I started cleaning and organizing. Finally when I saw this challenge today, Tuesday Morning Sketches #46, to use your favorite color combination and glitter, I got inspired.

My favorite colors are pink, orange and red. I like them together and separately. I actually love most colors and combinations, but this is one of my favorites, so happy and bright. And who could stand up to those colors? Stella! She looks like she is having a fab time in her tub full of sparkly bubbles. She is very glitzy, her bubbles are covered in stickles, and her lipstick and nail polish are sparkled up with a spica glitter pen.

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge (MTSC74) for this layout. I think the panel behind Stella should have been a bit wider, according to the sketch, but it's glued down now, so it's going to have to stay.

Hope to get a bit more crafting time this week! Thanks for dropping by today.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Stamping Bella Stella, sentiment from PTI
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Real Red, Only Orange, Pink Passion
Embellishments: SU border punch label punch, American Craft brads, copics, stickles, nesties, spica pen, cuttlebug embossing folder

Ready for a Swim

I had all these papers and the stamp out on my desk from making up card kits for a swap I'm in. When I saw the Midnight Madness sketch this morning (MMSC53), I couldn't wait to give it a try. My take is somewhere between the simple and fancy version.

I love this little Tilda in her old fashioned bathing suit. I have lots of these stamps, but she is definitely a favorite. Her inner-tube is covered in crystal effects to give it a realistic look.

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight. Off to watch Glee, it is just such a fun show!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Tilda from Magnolia
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Only Orange, DCWV patterned paper
Embellishments: copics, stickles, crystal effects, border punch, prima flowers, PTI button

Little Pedi Kit

I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for tins. I have a whole box full of them ready to be altered and filled with fun. This cute little tin is super easy to make into a pedicure kit.

I found the lime green pedicure essentials at Michaels' in the dollar bin. Added a bright bottle of nail polish and there you go, tin filled.

Now for the fun part. I decorated my tin with Trisha from Rubber Romance. I colored her with copics and added plenty of sparkle with stickles and rhinestones.

I think she would be a perfect party favor for a girls' weekend or spa themed party.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope all the moms out there had a wonderful day yesterday and were totally spoiled.

Recipe:
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise, DCWV Citrus Stack
Embellishments: copics, nesties, stickles, rhinestones, SU ribbon

Hanging on the Line

Had a little more time to play with my new There She Goes Loads of Fun set. Any time I see a laundry line it reminds me of my Nana. We would spend time with her in the summer and she always hung out her laundry. We loved to help her. The laundry always smelled so good after it dried in the sun, probably had something to do with the salt air from living near the ocean, too.

Thought it was good timing on Mother's Day to post a card that reminded me of my Nana Fran. She is 96 now, and while her body is weak, she is still sharp as a tack.

The Tuesday Morning Sketch #44 was just perfect for this image too. Great simple sketch, I'll definitely come back to this one again.

I wish all the moms and grandmoms a happy Mother's Day. Hope you are spending time with your loved ones. Maybe even relaxing a bit!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: There She Goes
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Taken with Teal
Paper: PTI ssw, Taken with Teal, Pink Pirouette, Cosmo Cricket patterned
Embellishments: nesties, copics, stickles, dimensionals, SU border punch, PTI buttons

Wrinkled Laundry

When I saw the JUGS31 sketch this week, I knew I wanted to use this image for it.

I just got this fun set from There She Goes. It has the funniest sentiments with it. I'm always joking with my hubby that the laundry is a never ending battle and sometimes it wins! With four kiddos I do at least one or two loads everyday. Doing it is not so bad, it's the folding and putting away that I don't like. Much more fun to color a basket of wash than to fold one.

Think I'll use these images and fun sentiments to make some cards for my husband. He travels a lot and these would be fun to tuck into his suitcase, think it would make him smile.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week. We are having great weather and spent hours outside today. I love the spring!

Stamps: TSG Loads of Fun
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI ssw, Spring Rain, Spring Moss, Lavender Moon, Basic Grey Kioshi
